So, I doodled some flowers on a piece of my hillbilly dyed fabric and colored them in with markers......
....then, I sandwiched it and began thread painting over the colors.....
....and LOVED how it was taking shape.....but got me to thinking...hhhmmm...this reminds me of those embroidered Mexican dresses.....
QUICK!!! Get to Google and search images for embroidered Mexican dresses!!!

You go gurl! That's awesome! Love it!
Hey!!!
THIS hillbilly doesn't know how to take that title of your fabric dyeing process.
I actually do it the harder way. I tried the "REDNECK" way which you accidentally called 'Hillbilly' (LOL)and I had trouble with colors staying or being dark enough.
Have you used any in quilts?
You are so freaking talented! I want to see these in person (the flowers and the houses)... bring them Sunday?
I think your thread painting is really neat. Are you doing Pat Sloan's Meadow Breeze? There is someone who is posting photos of her blocks on the Flickr group for that who is doing a lot of thread painting. I wondered if it was you. Wish I could get brave enough to do this!
Karen, you are amazing! This is beautiful!!
who in their right mind would try to stop you!!
