We took a very long bike ride today.....about 20 miles round trip. We went from Elgin all the way to Algonquin....which is at the top of this map. Stopped to eat at cute cafe in Algonquin. On the way home it rained most of the way....we had quite the adventure!
Rode my bike for about 10 miles today on the bike path...whew...I'm out of shape..but I did it. Found another cute little coffee shop/restaurant I want to check out ...so many cute things and places to see on the trail. Bought a laptop today...I've been wanting one for awhile...I had a refurbished one that I used but unfortunately it broke and my computer geek boyfriend/fiancee couldn't fix it. Got a super great price at Best buy...they only had 10 of them, so Chuck and I both got one....his laptop was also broke and unrepairable...sigh. Anyway for $350.00 we couldn't pass up the deal....there's a pic of it up top....ain't she cute....so silly, I know....never thought I would be such a computer geek...I'm starting to learn how to do digital scrapbooking...its the big thing in scrapping now.
So it rained all day yesterday and I holed up in the craft room....didn't get a lot done but did a little organizing. Going to craft a little this am then Chuck and I are going out thrifting....we're such an exciting couple....then its off to the bike path. Probably should bike ride first....Have a great day!!
Here's a shot of our house as it is now....without the snow. You can see Mr Green Jeans (Chuck) in the bottom left of pic. He dug up the whole side yard the last few weeks and planted a HUGE garden...omg..tomatoes anyone?
Remember when it was snowing?....I so glad its not anymore...I'm so enjoying this springtime...I need to get a spring shot of our house..... So I'm finally home...I've been at the twins since Wednesday. Their mom and dad had a little vacation in San Diego this week. Man, I'm ready for a little vaca....all things are good, we're going to work in the garden this weekend and of course I'll be at my craft table....thinking about another contest, tho this one would really be the big leagues....its for Memory Makers mag. They are calling for 5 pages any size. One page needs to be an "I wish...". Hmmmm what do I wish for....? any suggestions?
I've been working with the twins A TON the last few weeks...50-60 hours a week...you all know thats way too much work for me!! I finished my projects for the Rusty Pickle Amazing Race Design Team contest and am sending my stuff this weekend...I'm sure I don't have a chance in hell of winning, but its good practice for other contests. This specific one asks that you use 90% of their product which was kinda hard as I didn't want to spend a ton of money...trying to pay off the credit cards, not add to them!! The "Jessica" book used a free RP kit insert from one of the scrapping mags. The "Grace" book which is my altered project entry (altered board book) used RP's chocolate bunny line. My subjects are so adorable, so I'm hoping to get extra points for that!!! I love you, Grace and Jess...
Sat down to do some serious craftin' today but can hardly find a thing in my mess...I'm feeling like I have NO time to scrap since I've been working with the twins so much....altho I do love my job!!! and they have really come a long way since I met them last Dec. Hoping to get another 6 months with them...will find out in the next few weeks if their case gets renewed for another 6. Anyway, back to my mess...so i sit down to work , and I spend half my time organizing all the yummy supplies I have...I guess thats half the fun. I'm still working on a three part project for Rusty Pickle which needs to be turned in by June1....pix to follow soon of the altered book I did of Grace.
