Hi :)

I haven't posted in awhile...been down with a bum tooth. Today is the first day in a week that I work up without pain. YAY! I've been pretty hopped up (get it? Easter? hopped?) on tylonol3's, Motrin and a super strong antibioitic. I'm so looking forward to a root canal next Tuesday...can't. wait.

The flower pic was taken in Florida last month....thinking it would make a nice art quilt.
Have a great day.....its supposed to rain like crazy here today. yay.

Oh, on the up side of having a bad tooth? I've lost 3 pounds.....I'm sure it will find me. As for the rain, April showers bring May flowers...or so they say. Whoever they are.

Sleeping with the Enemy.

Sophie doesn't have many toys, but she does have Mrs.Hopkins who is a little stuffed bunny. Sophie likes to grab Mrs. Hopkins and growl and shake her really hard. It's always quite amusing to Sophie's people (me and Chuck). Chuck tucked MH into bed with Sophie and the both of us had a good laugh.....what can I say, it doesn't take much to entertain the Kells family ;)

Quilt for Baby Lupita

My mom asked me to make a baby quilt for Maria, who is a classroom assistant at her school. So I did. And here it is. Her baby's name is (will be) Lupita so I 'wrote' her name on the quilt. Hope the ultrasound is right and Lupita doesn't come out as Lupito.

These are the shoes......

.....I wore to work yesterday.

I have another pair just like them.

They sat by the back door of a birthing mama's home all day, so I didn't realize it 'til I went to put them on to go home. Gramma noticed, tho. She said she had been looking at my feet all day wondering if I had a condition or something where I had to wear 2 different shoes.

Oh, I got a condition alright...it just doesn't have anything to do with my feet.

Gracie gets her Quilt....finally.

Amy got a quilt. Danny got a quilt. Jack got a quilt. Then Jess got a quilt. Even this kid got a quilt!
Awwwwww......poor Gracie. No quilt for her.....wwwwaaaaaaa. At least that's what she thought! Then tada! Auntie comes thru with a quilt....in her favorite colors! YAY!!!!

Oh, Stella, did you really think Auntie wouldn't make you your very own quilt?

Ridin' Along in my Auto-Mobile

Me: Here, Sophie, sit up here.... you'll like it !
Sophie: REALLY???REALLY? How did I get stuck in this family?

No dogs were harmed during the photo-taking of this picture ;)
Amusement had by all (except maybe by dog).

How to prepare yourself to sew.......from 1949.

"Prepare yourself mentally for sewing. Think about what you are going to
do...never approach sewing with a sigh or lackadaisically. Good results are
difficult when indifference predominates. Never try to sew with a sink full
of dishes or beds unmade. When there are urgent housekeeping chores, do
these first so your mind is free to enjoy your sewing.
"When you sew, make yourself as attractive as possible. Put on a clean
dress. Keep a little bag full of French chalk near your sewing machine to
dust your fingers at intervals. Have your hair in order, powder and
lipstick put on with care ... if you are constantly fearful that a visitor will drop
in or your husband will come home and you will not look neatly put
together, you will not enjoy your sewing as you should."

Now excuse me while I put on a clean dress, do the dishes, make the beds and take care of my URGENT housekeeping chores :)

Dire conditions at the Kells' home....

.....the can was empty. Not good. Fortunately, the Lady of the house had thought ahead.....way ahead...so far ahead that she had forgotten.

Husband states, "Don't we have any emergency coffee?"
Lady laughs at husband ridiculousness.
Husband, pawing around in pantry, pulls out the decaf coffee can and says with a whine, "Is this all we have?"
Husband opens can and lo and behold, look what the Lady had stashed inside!!!

I must say, lady of the house rocks.

Laughter ensues. Husband and Lady decide to take comedy act on the road. On second thought, they will stay home and record themselves as their very own reality show to be shown on You tube for their friends and family's enjoyment.

Funny email exchange or I hope my neighbors don't read my blog.

Jenn commented on my last post: Haha...my husband and I always have funny names for people, too, like that!
....which led to a email exchange which went like this:

(Fyi: pics have nothing to do with post, its just...who likes a post with no pics I ask you?!)

Me: Thats funny about making up the names for your neighbors....we also have the mayor(neighborhood know-it-all), the motorcycle guy, the car guy, the hillbillies, the Garcia's (When it rains really hard, their yard fills up with water and we call that Lake Garcia.)We also have the drug-pusher and her husband the gun guy(She's a pharmacist and he sells guns). OMG...I didn't know we had so many!!!!I'm cracking myself up over here. Oh right...we also have the newlyweds...I'm looking out my window to see if I forgot anyone....oh and 'the old lady next door'.... almost forgot her cause she never comes out of her house. OMG...I'm ROTF laughing.

Jenn: OMG! You crack me up! I'm ROTFL too!!!! All I can think of right now is a man that works at our local wal-mart in the meat department...he looks kinda scary and we call him "murder meat man"....we do this all the time! Sounds like you do, too!!! HILARIOUS!!!

Do you have funny names for the folks in your neighborhood?
