New Fabric....

....not from the thrift store and costing a pretty penny but so worth it!

Warm car

Artful Bras

Aunt Kathleen pointed these out. They were made for breast cancer awareness. They don't look very comfortable to wear, but I ask you, what bra is?! I'd rather have a bra to hang on the wall instead of on my chest.

Block #2 - Apartments

Another Bom

My new friend, Sharif , found this Bom which I want to do. I love the cat blocks and the fence blocks and the tulip blocks and the big tree block....oh I like the whole thing.
Btw, you don't have to have a blog to join in on the Pay it Forward game....come on you chickens.....don't you want to get a little package or is it that you don't want to pay it forward after you do get your package....hhhhhhmmmmmmm. (That little guilt trip was for all you Catlicks...I mean Catholics ;)

Look what I got!!!

Auntie Kath paid it forward and sent me this great box of yummies...oh so fun to get a package in the mail! Love, love, love the purple bag which is now my lunch bag. The fabric cards are great. I love all the fabric you picked for them. The little notebooks are adorable as are the sweet little pens. The Moda squares....oh be still my beating heart! I've already started looking for the perfect project to use them! Thanks, auntie!
Now its my turn to pay it forward.
Here's how to play:
1. You make a comment on this entry of my blog that you want to play.
2. If you are one of the first 3 people to comment, I will send you a little something special in the mail. (If I don’t already have it, you will need to leave me your email so I can contact you privately for your address.)
3. IF you have a blog, you then post a Pay it Forward game on YOUR website and do the same. If you don't have a blog I'm sure you can find another way to pay it forward. Or you could start a blog.
Fun times! Btw, as most of you know, I'm usually a curmudeon** when it comes to doing this sort of thing but it is really nice to Pay it forward.
**curmudeon: An ill-tempered and frequently crabby person full of stubborn ideas or opinions.

Spooky and Thrifty fabric

Here's a pile of fabric I picked up at the thrift store the other day. I especially like the red flowered one that Spooky is lounging on. Its a vintage reproduction from 1943. All of these peices were less then $2 each. I hit the fabric jackpot!

BTW, my traffic feed is looking quite international today.

I like 4-letter words....

....especially these.

Random pics....

Amy and Nick...Kenny's friend Tom's kid.

Me (dads favorite) and dad.

Eric and Luke.

.......From Jack's birthday celebration.

Fun with Cats

Step 1: Get bright yarn and Cosmic Catnip
Step 2: Dip yarn in catnip.

Step3: Torture cat mercilessly.

.....another post to be published under the 'I need to get a life' category.

Salma Hayak....not just another stupid actress.

Cousin Sarah pointed out this story and I just had to steal it for my blog. What a powerful statement Miss ....I mean Mrs. ( she just married a billionaire and hopefully will be using his $$$$ to further her causes!) Hayek sends out to the world. I'm so happy to see breasts used in such a positive, life-giving way. Yay for boobies!

I am grateful.....

....in no particular order.

Family.

Chuck.

Bubba & Spooky.

Our house.

Jesus.

New babies.

My sewing machine and all my craft stuff.

New mommies.

My craft room.

A warm house.

A job.

Sunshine.
Home Birth.
Friends.

What are you thankful/grateful for today?
Here is my moms' grateful list for today:
A grateful list-always a wonderful idea! When I am having a hard time it's particularly helpful as a reality check. The things that top my list are my Penny girl and the rest of my family, my healthy earthen vessel, and living in California. The rest of the list is very long and certainly includes some of the things you listed. Oh yeah and morning-I love and am so grateful for this time of day. I usually like it to start a couple hours later than it did today 3am. Love, Mom

Housing Development aka Wonkytown.

So I had so much fun making the pink house BOM, I couldn't wait to make more. These houses are not as neat as the pink house, I will classify them as 'wonky' houses. So this quilt will be officially named Wonkytown, USA. I saw this idea on-line and have put my own spin on it. (MSA will tell you, I've never had an original idea in my life, and she's probably right. CASE, baby! (copy and steal everything) ) Oh, and since I haven't found space in the craft room for a design board, I hung them up like flags. Hey Chuck, I need a bigger craft room......;)

My second Quilt....finished....finally!

I think Sunbonnet Sue will be a wall hanging, not a pillow for Bubba. Sorry, kitty.
Special note to MFA: If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anthing at all!

Our president.....

...... really needs to kick that habit.

Life Changes & Big Decisions......Update.

Well, since making my 'big decision' last week, I've been to 3 births in 6 days! (Plus, all these moms need post partum visits! Cha Ching!) The births have all been wonderful and very fulfilling. I'm so thankful for the work. Chuck and I are celebrating by ordering out for pizza. Woo Hoo! Aren't we crazy? Maybe I'll stay up until 8p tonite!

Another BOM

I forgot that Aunt Kath sent me this BOM. I had so much fun with the house BOM, I decided to do this one too. Here's the first one.

All my children....I mean WIPs.

......at least they are organized.

I heart this fabric!

I love the vintagy look of the fabric with the kids......I need to find a yellow to go with it.....maybe I should check my stash.......hhhmmmmmmm.

Latest block from sewing class....Update for Aunt Kath

.....a pinwheel block.
Aunt Kath asked if the block was a little 'lumpy' in the middle of the back of the block. Here's a pic.....its not that bad.
