Pearl Jam Quilt

About a month ago, Dan threw out, in his words, "my favorite shirt ever". The T-shirt, which he had bought at a PJ concert, was full of holes and stains and was quite unwearable. I , being the clever mom that I am, garbage picked it, cut it up , and incorporated it into a new quilt. I also searched the internet for the same T-shirt and bought that. I think he really liked it! I am the Best. Mom. Ever. Merry Christmas, Danny-boy!

I've been working on quilts for Christmas presents, so that's why I haven't shown much lately. (Stay tuned Dec. 26)I just finished this baby quilt for another co-worker who is due. The whole quilt is recycled/repurposed materials from MLTS*. The white polka dot used to be a bed sheet and the purple polka dot was a bed skirt. The back (which I didn't want to show because there are quite a few puckers)is also from a piece of fabric from MLTS. I LOVE using linens in my quilts. It makes me feel so very green. I know quilting purists would not approve, but hey, I'm just trying to do my part in saving stuff from going to landfills;) Total cost of materials....around $5.00.

Baby Quilt for Lulu's Boutique.

This is Lulu....isn't she beautiful? I ran across her blog, Liver for Lulu, awhile back and was moved by this little girl's family and her story. Lulu's family and friends are having a fundraiser for her next week. I wanted to contribute a little something, so I put together this baby quilt and will pop it in the mail on Monday. Cute Little Baby Quilt

I'm looking forward to attending the birth of the baby boy for whom I made this quilt. I machine quilted it free hand...not with the Flynn Frame....I'm still trying to get a handle on that thing. I think I've decided that my machine and the frame don't like each other, so I'm going to try the frame on MSA's machine and see how that goes. Anyway, this quilt was super easy and fast to put together and I really like how it turned out. The meandering quilting I did is just so-so, but I think I just need some more practice.

Amy's birthday Quilt

The Oxford Baby Quilt

This baby quilt is made from one pink and one white men's oxford shirt (purchased from the thrift store (of course) for about a buck each.) I included a pocket on one of the squares for a binky or baby toy. It turned out cute.

Wonky Town

Well, I started building Wonky Town back in February but then housing starts were way down and it languished in a corner hoping to be built upon soon. Here is is July and the town is finished! I've already started moving into the blue house on top altho my roof is a little crooked...just like me! As a matter of fact, all the roofs look a little crooked and the cats' behinds are cut off and some of the houses seem to be tilted sideways. I like it anyway. I like the trees and the tiny details in the windows.

Done!

I'm very happy with the outcome.

Marine Comfort Quilt

Aunt Kath sent me the squares, backing and batting to put together this quilt for Chad Edmondson's family. Sadly, Chad, who was only 20 years old, was killed on May 27th in Iraq. I hope this quilt gives his loved ones a little peace. There were some really nice messages written on the quilt squares from different families around the country. Working on this quilt this past weekend really put our flooded basement into perspective......so we got some water.....big whoop. There are so many other terrible things going on in our world yet I am so incredibly blessed by all I have. Please keep Chad's family in your prayers as they must be suffering horribly.

Such a silly girl I was last Monday to think I could get 4 WIPS done in a week! I'm sure you all had a little giggle on my behalf. Good thing I changed the goal to one WIP a week. I finished the AB quilt just in the nick of time. I like it.

Peek-a-Boo

I made this little blankie for Delaney....here's what her mom, Kristyn, said about it: "......not only is the blanket that you made for Delaney both practical & adorable, it also makes for a great game of peek-a-boo. I wish you could have heard her giggles." I glad she likes it!

My second Quilt....finished....finally!

I think Sunbonnet Sue will be a wall hanging, not a pillow for Bubba. Sorry, kitty.
