My Peeps.

My latest obsession with Easter on the way is Peeps bunting. I don't care for the Peeps candy but I sure do think they are cute when made into bunting.

A Pile of Peeps.

On the mend.

Just being home with Chuck and Sophie (and all my crafty stuff) has made a world of difference on my healing. Thanks you two! Especially you, Chuck..... you are my knight in shining armour! and Sophie, I don't know how we got so lucky to get such a loving doggy! I'm one lucky girl!

A few random pics from Florida

It was a little chilly when we first got there, so we crafted the first day...which was fine with me. We went to the beach one day...it was pretty chilly that day too.Hopefully Amy got more pics because this was all I got before I hurt my leg. Which ,BTW, is feeling better very slowly.

The Kids' New Rooms.

Amy painted in the girls' room colors that matched their new bedding. Jack loves his Sponge Bob room. Everything turned out great.

Lemme tell ya about my vacation.....

Things did NOT go as planned. I flew down to Florida last Tuesday with high expectations. Sun! Fun! Family! Sewing in the morning! Swimming in the afternoon! Cocktails in the evening! Good Times! That lasted almost 3 days. Better then no days I guess. On Thursday I felt like I had pulled a muscle in my thigh. By Friday, my thigh started to swell. By Saturday my thigh was swollen from the knee up. I needed to go to the ER. OH GOODY ;( My first thought was maybe I had a blood clot and that was Dr 90210's (very young, very cute doctor.....Amy named him that. I called him Doogie Howser) thought as well. But then he changed his mind and thought I was a muscle sprain. They did an ultrasound to rule out clot...ruled out. Sent home. Next day. Even more swelling and pain....have I mentioned the PAIN?!?! I could barely walk. Called my HF doc and he said....no more monkeys jumping on the bed....no wait...he said go back to the ER. OH YAY ;(  This time blood work was done as well as an exray...all negative. Diagnosis: Muscle sprain. (The weird thing about this injury is that I don't remember hurting myself....and no, I don't think it was from too many cocktails the first few days!) He wrapped it up and told me stay stay off of it. For how long, I asked? 'Til its better, he replied. I was glad I went back because I was able to see a different doc (one closer to my age thank you very much) and got another opinion. ANYWAY....I mostly stayed in bed the next 4 days as the sun shined in thru the window and a gentle breeze blew thru. I uncomfortably flew home on Tuesday, but fortunatly,  was able to get a bulkhead seat on the flight because of my pitiful condition. So, I'm home and am happy to report I'm on the mend. I don't think I'll be able to work much before Sunday or Monday as I still don't have a lot of ROM (range of motion). One needs a bit of ROM to drive ones car. The pain has decreased....thank you Advil......and I'm moving around better today but plan to stay off it as much as possible the next several days. So that's my story. No sewing/crafting has been done in over a week and the withdrawal has been as painful as my injury. I may try to sneak up to the craft room today just to look at all my stuff ; )

Scraps, 2009

Here's one more quilt I got back from Auntie in that big box she sent a week or so ago. This one is made all from leftover scraps and blocks from 2009. I think it turned out just great. Needs binding....anyone?
***
On another note, Craftapalooza II was fun this past weekend. It was great getting together with the 3 aunties and Sarah. I didn't take any pics, but Kath did so I'll be sure to steal some when she posts them ;) On second thought, why don't you jump over to her blog and see all the fun stuff we did.)Auntie has a great huge basement for crafting and a spare bedroom and tiny kitchen down there as well. Me and Sophie felt right at home...thanks so much for having us, Kath! It was good to see Uncle Scott...he kept teasing that Sophie better watch out for the hawks outside....they might swoop down and swallow her in one gulp!

Cissna Park or Bust!

I'm headed to Aunt Kath's today for a crafting weekend with my cousin Sarah and 2 other aunties! I'm very excited. Kath lives about 3 hours south of me so I think I'm going to pack up Sophie and take her with me. I need some company for the ride. Sophie doesn't have much to say excepy for the occasional arf, so she's a good traveling companion. Ting!

South Heaven Sunshine Quilt

Here's another quilt I got back from Kath. Again, this one still needs binding but I thought I'd show it to you anyway. God knows when the binding will get sewn on ;)
I just love it. This one will be going on our bed....eventually.

Thrifted Basement Quilt

I found this top at the thrift store ($8.00) and Aunt Kath quilted it for me. I told her just to have fun with it and she did. She quilted some amazing patterns onto it. I love it! chuck has been asking for a quilt for the basement and this one will be perfect. Now, if I could just find someone to bind my quilts for me.....

Chuck, Bubba and Sophie

Chuck gets so excited when both the cat and the dog sit next to each other. Oh, the small things in life.....

Where have you been?!

So it seems my fan club (which consists of my mom and MFA (my friend Amy)) get a little worried when I haven't blogged in a week. Sheesh...sorry, gals. I really haven't been too busy...1 or 2 baby catches, walking Sophie and being a lazy blogger is all. Hmmmm...I wonder if the novelty of having a blog for over 3 years is starting to wear off. I hope not, cause I really like showing of to you all ;) Anyway, below is several posts of what I've been up to the last week or so and some sneak peaks.Enjoy, mom and Amy!BTW....I put up 5 new posts so that should cover me for the next few days...right?

A really big box!!

So fun to come home and see a HUGE box on the front porch. I didn't open it right away because I wanted to wait for Chuck to get home so he could be impressed by what a big package I got in the mail ( and to share my excitement of what was inside). Turns out he was going to be late getting home so I started tearing into it. I knew what was in there as it was from Aunt Kath. As you can tell from the box, she had it taped up REALLY WELL! Here are some peaks of what was in it. I'll post bigger pics later. They all look so great. Auntie is a whiz quilter.

Craft Show

I agreed to be in a craft show at a local grade school this spring. I've been working on figuring out what to sell and making dolly quilts. Here's a peak of my list and some of my projects. Turns out dolly quilts are fun to make.....You get so much satisfaction really quickly 'cause they are so quick to whip up.

Ticker Tape Quilts

These quilts have been all over the blogospere lately so I decided I needed to make one to. So, I separated and ironed all my scraps and have made this panel so far. It's so easy and very cute and colorful. I was thinking I would make several 18 by 24 panels and then figure out how to sew them all together.

Gretchen and Mr Perfect

This is my sister Marys' friend, Getchen, who works with the dolphins at the Shedd Aquarium. Ain't they sweet?
