So, I'm totally bummed 'cause its Tuesday and I can't come up with ANYTHING creative for the new PQ challenge. Here are the instructions for this week:
1. The theme is Road Trip. I'm sure you've all been on one, so pull out your memories and see where they take you.
2. You must use at least 12 different fabrics on the front of your quilt.
3. POST your entries with a description of your creative process, including where you are (ie, I create in Madison, WI) by Sunday, May 30, at noon.
Anyone have any bright ideas?

How about a map quilt of the US? You can do the states as raw edge applique and do each state a different fabric... great scrap buster...
I know it's trite and lame, but hey, it's a suggestion! LOL!
OR....
Take a map of your favorite city, blow it up real large until it's almost abstract, and mark your favorite spots...
What if the Road was traveling? :)
Whenever I travel, Tolkein's poem about The Road Goes Ever On comes to me -- I have a truly wicked skill for getting lost (it always seems to me that The Road twitched it's Back and Threw me Off:).

I have to tell you - you're not alone. This has been a tough one for me too - I have these ideas but no way to finish them in a week - so I'm going with something sort of cheesy and hopefully something amazing hits me before it's done...
Good luck!
You know those maps yo ufind at hte beginning of a fiction book such as The Hobbit? They're more like a treasure map with specific areas marked off. like streams and mountains, forests, meadow, etc. you could do a treasure map of sorts. You could do raw edge quilting for some things--like trees in the forest or curved piecing for streams.
you are full of good ideas--just go with one of them! Never-mind that it's only a week. the longer you wait to start, the less time you'll have to get it done. so just do it. start it! I believe in you!! You can do it!!
