Coloring on the walls.

....so I want to color on the walls in my craft room....who do I need to ask for permission? It just seems so naughty. I've wanted to do it ever since I moved into this house. I found this wallpaper you can put up and then color, but why wouldn't you just color directly on the wall and just by pass the paper...

ATC's

Found some info on ATC's if anyone is interested...attached are some of the ones I made for a swap. The theme was umbrellas.

A R T I S T T R A D I N G C A R D S ( A T C s ) :
A n I n tro d u c ti o n

A Swiss performing artist, M. Vänçi
Stirnemann, was admiring a collection
of hockey trading cards and was
inspired to develop the concept of “A
Collaborative Cultural Performance”
in 1996. He then created over 1000
Artist Trading Cards, displayed them
in his Zurich book store and on the
last day encouraged anyone who
wanted one to create their own ATCs
to trade. The criteria was that they
had to be 2.5 x 3.5 inches in size,
any medium, and were not to ever be
sold, just traded.
This new art form would have
remained a local attraction had it not

been for the Internet where word of them spread worldwide. These days
they are just a click away via your computer keyboard. Internet sites allow
individuals all over the world trade ATCs through the mail or organize live
trading events.
Today, Artist Trading Cards are created by aficionados worldwide. ATC
artists range from beginners to professional and work in every imaginable
media—acrylic, watercolor, oils, mixed media, collage, stamping/scrapping,
fabric, clay, and more! Once ATCs are created, they are traded in-person
or online either one-on-one or in swaps.

Birdies out my window....

So I'm sitting at my computer doing important computer work (stalking other blogs) listening to the birds chirp at 440am and I came across this sweet quote:

A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.

Have a great day!

ATC

I started trading ATC's (artist trading cards) with some folks from this site ....ATC's for all. They measure only 2.5 by 3.5 inches. They're little pieces of art. Here is my first card that I will be sending to a woman in Canada. She in turn then sends me a card with the same theme. Fun.

Ziploc Plastic bags

My mom was way ahead of her time when she used to wash/recycle her plastic bags. We used to totally make fun of her hanging the bags around the kitchen to dry.....guess who's doing it now?

I am grateful....for my work.

So today, its back to work with the twins in Elmhurst. I haven't been there in about two weeks. Looking forward to seeing them and their baby sister...oh yeah and their mom too. and Kristyn too.Yesterday I attended a mom up in Chrystal Lake have her third birth. It was wonderful. There were alot of friends and family there so it was like a big birth day party. Everybody cheered when the baby was born...a sweet little boy.

I am so very grateful for my work. It makes me very happy (most days:)

The Measuring Cup Cafe

This egg dish for so yummy! The crust was incredible! I meant to eat half and save the rest for lunch,.....but I ate it all!

Found another cute indie coffee shop in my area. I was so excited. I spent about 3 hours at the Measuring Cup cafe this morning working on my gratitude journal. Its about a 2-mile bike ride from me in East Dundee. The owner, Arlene and her daughter, Jonia were so sweet and welcoming. The coffee was coffeelicious and the bacon, egg and cheese pizza was overwhelmingly yummy. Arlene makes everything at the shop....her specialty is pies. Looking forward to tasting one of those......I think I found my new summer hangout!
