I bought a new iron a few years ago. It made a big difference, but ... I got one without the automatic shut off, because it always shut off just when I wanted to use it. The downside is, I've been here in the middle of the night when I forgot to unplug it, and the Fire Department was here once when I was cleaning it under the smoke detector! Good thing we don't have sprinklers in this building! Save you JoAnns coupon for a Rowenta, or maybe I can help.
