Thank You, Jesus

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Who did it?

I found this in my purse several months ago and I'm wondering how it got there. Does anyone want to 'fess up? I want to say its been in there since around last October or November.

100, 200, 300......

Well, I've packed on some poundage over the last few months...6 to be exact.....so I'm back to counting calories and working hard at the gym. I've pretty much been able to maintain the weight loss I had last year, but I think vacation with dad put me over the edge.....yea, that's it..its dad's fault.

Here's what breakfast breaks down to:

1 egg + 2 egg whites = 103

asperagus = 59

Toast = 60

0.5 c skim milk = 43

Grand total for breakfast = 265. Not bad.

I put a little feta in the eggs to spice them up. I'm so crazy I know.

Lunch with gramma Lu

Amy, Jack and I enjoyed lunch with Gramma yesterday. Here are some random sights seen at her house. The statue below has been around forever.....who is it? Jesus? The baby pope? I don't know.

Gramma really enjoys it when you guys visit! The statue is the Infant of Prague . . .
I must not of been paying attention in religon class that day....I never would have gotten that. Thanks, Kath and Wikipedia!

Infant of Prague was a pretty popular thing for awhile. Dad and I got two as wedding gifts. They came with clothes too. Boy I completely forgot about them and I don't remember their significance.
Thanks, mom....what were they dress up dolls?!? Weird.
Gramma was showing us how she cleaned out her closet.......and we happened to stumble upon her stash.

The Command Center.

To-do list.

We had a really nice time. Gramma's a real sweetie....of course we all know that.

Peek-a-Boo

I made this little blankie for Delaney....here's what her mom, Kristyn, said about it: "......not only is the blanket that you made for Delaney both practical & adorable, it also makes for a great game of peek-a-boo. I wish you could have heard her giggles." I glad she likes it!

coffee mug 2.0

...looks good but still needs more work. Mug part is still to big. I'm going to spin class now...I'll try again later.

Coffee anyone....

I made a coffee cup block this morn...just started cutting and sewing and came up with this. I looked at a few different cups online to get an idea of a pattern but put this one together myself. It's a very simple pattern but its cute! I need to make a couple changes. 1.) Bigger handle. 2) Make it either a 6 inch or 8 inch block. This one is 6 3/4 by 6 1/4....not very symmetrical, I know. Probably 8 inch....I like bigger blocks.

Quilter's Estate sale or did I die and go to quilter's heaven?

I went to an estate sale in Shaumburg yesterday and boy did I clean up! These are some pics of some of the stuff that was for sale. The lady whose home it was had been a big quilter. Her daughter said, "We had no idea mom had so much stuff." It felt kinda morbid pawing thru this woman's things with her daughter there but she was really sweet and I assured her that all the things I purchased were going to a very good home......mine.

Big Brave Girl

Chuck got my these beautiful hyacinths today while I sat in the dentists chair for 2 hours. I got not 1, not 2, but 3 root canals done today. I was going to get only 2 done but the numbing process is so traumatic for me, I asked the dentist if he could do the third one as well today and he did. It was great fun! I'm so glad they were all done at the same time. I truly am a big, brave girl!

My ($78.00) winnings.

Tons of fabric....
Magazines and ric rac and batting, oh my!

Sunflower Sue pillow....$1.00!

Retro 70's rocking chair for the craft room...5 bucks!!....dig my booties!

Retro 70's couch for craft room....10 dollars! The couch folds down into a bed! Far out!

Not pictured: I also got a floor vacuum, a swiffer thingy and 4 brand new cookie sheets. ('cause I'm a big housekeeper and cookie baker)

My Girl

I taught Grace how to crochet yesterday. I only had a really small needle and skinny yarn so it was kinda hard. I need to bring over a bigger crochet hook and fat yarn for her to practice. She caught on really fast, tho. Look how sweaty her hands are. Oh, Stella, I'm so proud of you.

Why, oh why.....

....won't my seams match. I'm trying so hard!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy Crafty Video

Sams

Chuck likes to shop at Sam's. It makes him happy to bring home lots of big food items. It makes me happy that I don't have to grocery shop as much as I used to. Here's his list along with his calculations (MUST stick to budget) from yesterday's Sam's run.

The Shed

About a month or so age I wrote Sylvia in South Haven and asked her if I could rent the shed for a week in June. My mom and Amy both have their usual cottages. I usually will stay with mom and Penny for a few days in their cottage but I get squirrly about not having my own space and i want to run home after 2 or 3 days.
Sylvia likes to save the shed for family members to stay in when they visit, so its not really available for rent..... but I thought oh what the heck, it can't hurt to ask. Well, she called yesterday and said I could have it for the week the rest of my family was there. Yippee! Back in 2004 I stayed there for a long weekend while working on my book. It was like being in a tiny artists cottage. I loved it. Its only about 300-400 square feet at the most, but there's a bathroom, a bed and a desk...oh and a coffee maker. What else do I need?
