7 lbs 2oz of pure joy! or I always wanted a little girl!!

Chuck and I decided that since we weren't going to have any little ones, we would adopt! Introducing.......

Sophie!!

Isn't she so darn cute!!We had been talking about getting a little doggy for awhile and had been tempted by some puppies at the mall this past weekend. Fortunatly, we came to our senses and didn't buy a ridiculously expensive (and probably a puppy-mill dog) mall dog but found Sophie at the Huntley 'no kill' shelter. She had only been there since Saturday. Her owner had to go into a nursing home and couldn't keep her anymore.

I love her! She's an older dog.....She's eleven, but is so sweet and very peppy. She slept next to me all night. I kept waking up to look at her and pet her. I'm totally smitten!
Oh, and Chuck loves her too! Bubba is not so sure yet. They're still getting to know each other. Lots of hissing and tail-fluffing (Bubba). Well, I'll probably be boring you with pics and cute stories the next couple weeks. I apologize ahead of time.

She's gorgeous. Congrats. And, thank you for getting an older dog with an owner who was reluctant to give her up. She's a lucky dog.

Sooo Cute!!!!! Now you will become a crazy dog owner like me. Good thing shes not a hunting dog. It was so kind of you to adopt an older dog. Have fun with her.

Congrats, Karen! Thank you so much for going green and getting a recycled dog. Pound puppies are the best! And you are right about the mall dogs- they are from puppy mills. Those trendy crossbreeds usually come from poorly bred "purebred" parents that can no longer be used to maintain a purebred line.

Oh Karen, I love her too, and I don't even know her yet! She's adorable and I'm so glad you adopted her. Think how lonesome she must have been.

Would've never pegged you as the type to get a dog Karen. But that Sophie sure does seem sweet....and the perfect match for you. Congrats momma!

Pound pups seem to know and show more love than other dogs do! Blessings to you and Sophie... she is such a sweetie... I can see why you couldn't resist.
