Dundee Farmers Market

Chuck and I went to a farmers Market this morn....I feel so GREEN today. We bought some baby asparagus (for dinner tonight) and a bunch of plants for our garden all grown in Marengo...about 60-70 miles from here. I'm excited to check out all the markets in the area this summer and to try and buy my produce local....Okay,calm down mom!!!! I know what you're thinking , "oh be still my beating heart!"

I did need to calm my heart down. Oh, where did I go right? The farmers market is the way to go. Good for the farmer, good for you, and good for the world. Are there any you can ride your bikes to when you are not buying flowers? I take a backpack, have a basket on the bike and sometimes a saddlebag. My contribution to recycling today, was to buy my Summer wardrobe at a high end garage sale. Our friend Yvonne had a consignment shop many years ago and has quite an eye. It's like having a personal shopper. We dropped $125 and got 4 bags full that included 4 pair of shoes, jewelry, 2 big brim hats that we wore away and name brand beautiful clothes. Such a deal. Thanks for the encouragement to respond to blog. Love, Mom

So who do you think you are, Jacqueline in the beanstalk? Sounds like a good time and so colorful too. I will be excited to see your garden when we come in.
This morning your mom says to me "is it worth going to the garage sale? Will she have anything for me? Is it going to be 90 degrees again?" 'Let's go, I told Yvonne we'd go." Soooo, six hours of trying on clothes, shoes, attitudes, hats, jewelry; iced tea----get the picture? Like asking her does she want to go to Caputo's for five minutes...
