Project Quilting - Don't Blow My House Down - Last Challenge

Here were the instructions for the last challenge....I can't believe I did them all!
The inspiration for Challenge 8 is your favorite Nursery Rhyme. Remember, this is and INSPIRATION and does not need to be a literal translation.

I took my inspiration from the 3 little pigs. I didn't have a lot of time this week, so my project is small.
I started on Wednesday when I was at work sitting around waiting for my patient to kick into labor. I always carry a bag of art supplies with me in case I'm stuck at someones house for hours on end. Smart, huh?

I started this project by cutting up blue and green fabric into aprox. one inch squares. I didn't have enough variety of fabric, so I colored white fabric with green and blue markers and crayons. I also used some paper squares cut out of a magazine. I glued all the pieces down to a sheet of card stock and when I got home, I sewed over the glued down pieces. I then built my picture on top of that. A brick house, a straw house and a house made from sticks. I added trees, some sunshine and a picket fence and of course, some little piggies. I dug a frame out of the closet and "antiqued" it with some cream and brown paint.
All supplies came from my stash and no $$ was spent.
This project was started in Lake Zurich, IL and finished in Elgin IL.

Love that you mixed in stuff besides fabric and I like your frame... looks good and so cool that you didn't have to do binding! I like the wonky houses but I think my favorite part is the picket fence.

Great job, Karen. Another 'WOW-er' and I won't say how clever you are 'cause I'm sure you are tired of hearing it! LOL
