Had lunch with Mary, Matt and their kids Julia (8), Livvy (6), and Danny (3). Grace came along too. It was great to see those guys....the kids are growing so fast...

...so I did something a little crazy today...

...I wanted to make sure to cut off enough to send to "Locks of love"...anyway, it was time for a change.

I like it...I didn't plan for it to be so short. I told Julie to make sure it was long enough for a pony tail....that isn't going to be happening for awhile...My hair hasn't been this short since I had the Dorthy Hamill do back in the mid 70's

Rusty Pickle Loot

So I came home from work today and found this big package on my back porch. Even tho I didn't win a spot on their design team, I did get this great consolation prize. Very nice...there's about $50 worth of product...which kinda makes up for the $25 I spent to make my entries....Thanks RP!

My Chuck

Just want to say how lucky/blessed I am to have Chuck in my life. He so gets me, understands me, and loves me unconditionally. He's always willing to be a good listener and gives great feedback(even when I don't want to hear it but need to hear it!) Another thing...he gets up every morning and makes the coffee before I get out of bed....what more could a girl ask for!!! I love you so much Chuck, and am so enjoying our new life together.

So its Friday again...looking forward to scrapping with MFA tomorrow. Its going to be 90 degrees, so I'll be staying in the AC all day. Thinking about entering another contest....Memory Makers Mag this time. You need to enter 5 layouts...one them needs to be the theme "I wish....". I'm having a hard time coming up with something....any ideas.....the only thing I could come up with is "I wish for world peace"......but I don't want to sound like a beauty queen contestant hahahaha...besides it doesn't look like there will be world peace very soon....the other idea is to scrap my muses of course...Jack, Jess & Grace....and title it "My Three Wishes".

So here's some photos of the garden...Chuck planted 87 pea plants last weekend...that he had started from seeds....so, we'll be swimming in tomatoes and peas come August....

So, haven't posted in a few days....nothing going on. Robby in town for a few days...saw him and Mary over be Amy's today....he seems like he's doing good. Mary got a job at NW hospital and starts the end of July.(altho, you still have to pass the NCLEX before you can be a Real Nurse tho, Mary....you'll do just fine...)

I made several copies of this photo to scrap with....I just think it's so adorable. Have I mentioned how much I love these kids lately?!? It was really good hanging out with the family this past week.....its quite unique to hang out with both your parents and their significant others...I'm glad we all get along (most of the time!)

Saturday

Got home from Michigan on Thursday and seemed to have caught a bug....felt crappy all day Thurs and Fri...so had an excuse to stay in bed. Much better today. Chuck and me just hangin' out. He's been working hard outside...I'll take some pix tomorrow. I want to say congrats to auntie Col who did the Avon breast cancer walk last weekend....you rock, girl!!

Rusty Pickle contest

So, I didn't get picked as one of the 20 finalists in the RP contest...oh well. I'll keep trying other contests.....there are so many of them. The entries that won were really awesome...they're so elaborate. You can see them at rustypickle.com. My style is more on the "less is more" level with not as many embellishments. Anyway, I'm glad I entered and will continue to try out for other teams.

Tues. in SH

Met up with my old friend Jackie yesterday for lunch.....so good to see you girl! I can't believe how many years have gone by...we met in 1992 when Torie was just a baby.....she's a freshman in high school now!! Annie is a Freshman in college and Ben is a growed up man also in college!! We had a great time catching up.

monday in SH

....nice drive up here. I remember growing up it felt like Michigan was so far away...that it took hours and hours to get here. I think what it was was that it took us FOREVER to get out of the house..you know..mom had to plant the garden, load up the trailer, pack everything in the house before we even left Worth hahaha...So we all had supper together last night..fun. here's a few photos...

South Haven

....off to Mi today. I'll be staying at this cute B&B. I'm trying to figure out what crafts to bring as the weather for this week is not looking that great. Looks like rain, thunderstorms, cool temps...which is fine with me altho a drag for the Morrissey kids.

Nurse Mary

So there's a new nurse in town and her name is Mary!! She finished nursing school this week....I'm so proud of her. Congrats, seester! Thank god we'll now have a REAL nurse in the family! Anyone who has any questions about anything medical can now go to her for the right answers.

Cicadas.....eeewww

So, all is well...I've been in Elhearst last two days working with the twins....we haven't been outside at all due to all the buzzing cicadas...tons around here. We haven't gotten them in Elgin yet....hopefully it stays that way! They keep coming into the twins house thru the fireplace...I know they are harmless but they're so big and gross...and one cicada can make a ton of noise!Anyway...I'm off to South Haven on Sunday. I Won't be staying at Sylvia's this year....too expensive for just me. Found a cute B&B near the marina...i'll be there Mon-Thurs. Chuck staying home....doesn't want to miss work, goofy guy....he hasn't caught the South haven bug yet....maybe next year....Its been over 30 years....holy crap!!!...that we've been going up to SH and its still so beautiful. I'll be sure to post some pix.
