An Eggy Hook-up :)

I was out riding my bike along the river the other day and came across the above sign, so i stopped in and met Dave....who will now be known as 'the egg guy.' I bought 2 dozen and with my purchase came a tour of his hen house. Below is the King of the Roost. He lords over 27 hens. He had a lot to say while I was there.

Above is the hen house. The hens looked so cute sitting in their little roosting beds. The egg guy said the hens line up to take their turn in the beds. I don't know a lot about chickens, but I'm learning. We're hoping to have a few next year. Below are the gorgeous eggs.

Oh, and speaking of hens, mom and Penny are in town :)

We're all looking forward to some time in South Heaven next week.

Spring in a basket.

The Inspiration:
My friend, Chanel, posted this pic a few months ago and I loved it so much....

.....that I turned into an art quilt:) It measures 21 X 15.

I could'nt figure out how to border it so I think I'm going to put it in the frame below......I need to get matting for it....the quilt is just a tad too small.

Mother and Child Series #11

I made a big one (measures 11X17) and a small one (measures 6X7). The larger one is for my friend, Debbi, from my quilt guild. The small one is for sale:) It is priced at $25.00.

Question? I'm thinking the top orange flower(in the large one) is either too big or needs to be switched with the white flower...thoughts?

Sweet little baby hats.

So I've been crocheting up a storm of baby hats and little flowers lately. I gave the green one above to a sweet babe born this week. I've made them in all little sizes down to preemie size. I'm planning to send them to this organization.....Rosi's Cozies.

I am a Midwife

I've got the Braid.......
 .....and the Skirt.

I also have the equipment.

I have worked, studied and sat for a national exam and have been accredited with the Certified Professional Midwife credential, issued by NARM, the North American Registry for Midwives. NARM is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. This agency, NCAA, is the exact same agency that accredits many healthcare credentials, including the Certified Nurse-Midwife.

*I've assisted over 750 families to have their babies at home....

....and can practice legally in Wisconsin.....

....which is 34 miles...less then 50 mins..... from my home.

Unfortunatly, this is what Illinois does to my most valuable equipment.

For more information on how we can untie the hands of Illinois CPM's please see the following links:

Illinois Midwives Medicaid Proposal (this has been rejected by the Illinois government)

*All home births that have been attended by me have been as assisitant to a MD or CNM.

    Mother Blessing and Henna painting.

Yesterday my friend, Trish, invited me to a Mother Blessing Ceremony to paint/henna mama bellies. I only did one belly...... others wanted their arms or hands painted. Here are a few pics:) Oh, and my friend, Barb, taught everyone to do some belly dancing.

    Fun Times!!
