Sleeping with the Enemy.

Sophie doesn't have many toys, but she does have Mrs.Hopkins who is a little stuffed bunny. Sophie likes to grab Mrs. Hopkins and growl and shake her really hard. It's always quite amusing to Sophie's people (me and Chuck). Chuck tucked MH into bed with Sophie and the both of us had a good laugh.....what can I say, it doesn't take much to entertain the Kells family ;)

Ridin' Along in my Auto-Mobile

Me: Here, Sophie, sit up here.... you'll like it !
Sophie: REALLY???REALLY? How did I get stuck in this family?

No dogs were harmed during the photo-taking of this picture ;)
Amusement had by all (except maybe by dog).

and now for your viewing pleasure.....

*Embroidered grapes....
....and my loyal assistant, Sophie Kells.

*I have been dragging this piece of embroidery around with me in my craft bag for oh maybe 2 years. I'd work on it every now and then (in between other pieces) in the car when Chuck drives, at births, etc and I FINALLY finished it. It's a little dark for me but still it turned out OK.

Dad

Dad was in Shaumburg this week at the annual toy soldier show. Amy and I went to see his set up and then went to lunch with him.

Here he is playing with his guys ;)
Here he is taking some guys money.

Here we are at lunch.

Here's Sofie...she stayed home to guard the stairway up to the craft room. Good doggy.

Quilty Control

...get it? Sophie is my new quilty (quality) control supervisor! She's very serious about her job. She must be front and center at all times.

7 lbs 2oz of pure joy! or I always wanted a little girl!!

Chuck and I decided that since we weren't going to have any little ones, we would adopt! Introducing.......

Sophie!!

Isn't she so darn cute!!We had been talking about getting a little doggy for awhile and had been tempted by some puppies at the mall this past weekend. Fortunatly, we came to our senses and didn't buy a ridiculously expensive (and probably a puppy-mill dog) mall dog but found Sophie at the Huntley 'no kill' shelter. She had only been there since Saturday. Her owner had to go into a nursing home and couldn't keep her anymore.

I love her! She's an older dog.....She's eleven, but is so sweet and very peppy. She slept next to me all night. I kept waking up to look at her and pet her. I'm totally smitten!
Oh, and Chuck loves her too! Bubba is not so sure yet. They're still getting to know each other. Lots of hissing and tail-fluffing (Bubba). Well, I'll probably be boring you with pics and cute stories the next couple weeks. I apologize ahead of time.
